Door in the Wall Essay

David Singapogu

Were you ever in a point in your life where you needed to take a break, but you knew that if you just pushed yourself a little bit more you would reach your goal? In the book, The Door In The Wall, Robin was faced with this very decision. Everyone agrees that taking a break once in a while is ok, but some people believe that It was ok for Robin to rest badly, while others believe that it was not the time to stop.

Robin did the right thing in going to the fair for three reasons: Robin needed rest badly, Brother Luke restricted Robin unnecessarily, and Robin used time wisely.

The first reason Robin did the right thing in going to the fair is that Robin needed rest badly.  It was hard for Robin to travel.  Robin was hungry. Robin had to use clunky, constricting, clumsy crutches in order to move.

The second reason Robin did the right thing in going to fair is that Brother Luke restricted Robin unnecessarily.  Brother Luke was mean.  In reality, Brother Luke was too hard on Robin. Because his opinion was in the minority, Brother Luke was not a reliable source.

The third reason robin did the right thing in going to the fair is that Robin used time wisely.  Going to the fair meant that the thieves would not be able to find them.  At the fair, there would be food and they could stock up for the remainder of their journey.  Spending time at the fair was enjoyable, pleasurable and entertaining.

Robin did the right thing in going to the fair because he needed rest badly, brother Luke restricted Robin unnecessarily, and Robin used time wisely.  This matters too all people because it is good for people to occasionally take a break.
